I loved the poetry collection by Shelby Leigh。 This book has this sentiment with so many expressions by emotions, relationships and other things。 Making me feel like there's a story to these poems in this book。 Thanks to Central Avenue Publishing and NetGalley for allowing me to read this book for a review。 I loved the poetry collection by Shelby Leigh。 This book has this sentiment with so many expressions by emotions, relationships and other things。 Making me feel like there's a story to these poems in this book。 Thanks to Central Avenue Publishing and NetGalley for allowing me to read this book for a review。 。。。more

I was sadly disappointed with this book as I was expecting to enjoy it more than I did。 I didn't feel the poems flowed well, but it had a beautiful structure。 It also wasn’t clear where each poem ended and the next began。 However, that could be based on it not being a final copy or that it was in ebook format。The poems were inspiring and I can see how others might take comfort and inspiration in the authors’ words。 However, I would have liked to have seen more imagery and wordplay。 Overall, not I was sadly disappointed with this book as I was expecting to enjoy it more than I did。 I didn't feel the poems flowed well, but it had a beautiful structure。 It also wasn’t clear where each poem ended and the next began。 However, that could be based on it not being a final copy or that it was in ebook format。The poems were inspiring and I can see how others might take comfort and inspiration in the authors’ words。 However, I would have liked to have seen more imagery and wordplay。 Overall, not an awful book, but not for me。 Thank you to Netgalley, the author and publisher, for a chance to read and review this book。 。。。more

Thank you Net Galley for an ARC of Girl Made Of Glass by Shelby Leigh。 Such profound poetry! It was like looking in the mirror for me。 I loved how she pulled you into the life of self loathing and regret。

A poetry collection written in four parts, the author writes about everything from mental health, to healing, to relationships and past mistakes。 The author let the reader explore the past but also leave us hopeful about the future。I found this poetry collection to be relatable。 It was written so amazingly good, and I want it engraved into my mind。 The author managed to write poetry that made me tear up and smile and hope。 And we need that。 A lot。 If you love poetry, I’m sure you will like this A poetry collection written in four parts, the author writes about everything from mental health, to healing, to relationships and past mistakes。 The author let the reader explore the past but also leave us hopeful about the future。I found this poetry collection to be relatable。 It was written so amazingly good, and I want it engraved into my mind。 The author managed to write poetry that made me tear up and smile and hope。 And we need that。 A lot。 If you love poetry, I’m sure you will like this one。 It’s a collection I recommend。 Happy reading!♥️I got this book for free from netgalley。com in exchange for an honest review。 。。。more

Thank you netgalley for this ARC。 First of all this cover is so cute i love the color of it with the picture。 I dont read many poetry novels but sometimes they catch my eye like this one did。 I loved so many of the poems in this book and usually im picky with poetry。。 This was such a vulnerable piece of work and as someone who has anxiety alot of the poems really were accurate and i feel that this book has a poem for someone going through something or can relate to something they went through。 R Thank you netgalley for this ARC。 First of all this cover is so cute i love the color of it with the picture。 I dont read many poetry novels but sometimes they catch my eye like this one did。 I loved so many of the poems in this book and usually im picky with poetry。。 This was such a vulnerable piece of work and as someone who has anxiety alot of the poems really were accurate and i feel that this book has a poem for someone going through something or can relate to something they went through。 Relationships, love, heartbreak, mental health, finding yourself etc this poetry novel had a poem for everything。 Overall great read and i think poetry lovers will love this one。 。。。more

Time doesn’tmake everythingperfect, but it helps。 Girl Made of Glass is a beautifully written look into mental health when dealing with issues centering around anxiety, self-esteem, and self-image。 This collection is separated into four sections, each with their own distinct tone。 The first section really just dives right into the fear and the anxiety; the poetry here is pretty in the way that broken glass is - beautiful to look at, but painful to experience。 However, it doesn’t stay there the c Time doesn’tmake everythingperfect, but it helps。 Girl Made of Glass is a beautifully written look into mental health when dealing with issues centering around anxiety, self-esteem, and self-image。 This collection is separated into four sections, each with their own distinct tone。 The first section really just dives right into the fear and the anxiety; the poetry here is pretty in the way that broken glass is - beautiful to look at, but painful to experience。 However, it doesn’t stay there the collection’s entirety。 There’s a progression throughout the sections of being trapped inside one’s self due to overthinking, fear, anxiety, trauma, and self-esteem issues to embracing one’s self and moving forward even with those issues in tow。 I really liked the hopeful tone towards the end - there are so many modern or mainstream poetry collections that focus solely on being hurt and being stuck that it’s refreshing to see this lighter shift during the last two sections。 This collection is also written in a similar style to other modern poets, using a more casual structure through most of the collection and writing things that can feel both intimate and universal at the same time。 Personally, I believe I would have enjoyed this collection more had it not been in an electronic format - in the given format, the collection has been condensed so that all the pieces fit in a book that is technically less than 30 pages。 I think getting rid of all the blank space between that would have been seen if formatted traditionally, which can sometimes be annoying and come off as a waste of space, didn’t really do any justice to the timing or flow of the pieces and made it more difficult for me to distinguish one piece from another。 To be fair, I’m not used to reading poetry electronically like this。Thank you to NetGalley and Central Avenue Publishing for providing an ARC in exchange for an honest review。 。。。more

Poetry like this is so important。 There’s never enough ways to read about self-love and the journey to it。 This collection does such a wonderful job at capturing the feelings that come with mental health struggles like anxiety and depression。Honestly, it’s so hard to put into words how meaningful this was to read。 Just seeing thoughts you’ve had during some of your darkest moments reflected back at you but with a hopeful undertone is just breathtaking。 You hear so many times “it gets better” tha Poetry like this is so important。 There’s never enough ways to read about self-love and the journey to it。 This collection does such a wonderful job at capturing the feelings that come with mental health struggles like anxiety and depression。Honestly, it’s so hard to put into words how meaningful this was to read。 Just seeing thoughts you’ve had during some of your darkest moments reflected back at you but with a hopeful undertone is just breathtaking。 You hear so many times “it gets better” that you start to turn it out but when you read them in what feels like your own voice that is what’s truly comforting and why these verses are so powerful。 I highlighted so many lines that I’m definitely going to be getting a physical copy to reread during hard times。 Thanks to NetGalley and Central Avenue Publishing for sending me this arc! Received a copy from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review! This book enthralled me from the very first poem。 Not a lot of ones I've read start with such open festered wounds the way this did。 It felt like I was reading things I've only ever thought in the deep depths of my mind -- and heart。 I finished and sat there contemplating about who to recommend this to first and MANY people popped into my mind。 So safe to say this is a definite must for those like me who need to see what they feel i Received a copy from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review! This book enthralled me from the very first poem。 Not a lot of ones I've read start with such open festered wounds the way this did。 It felt like I was reading things I've only ever thought in the deep depths of my mind -- and heart。 I finished and sat there contemplating about who to recommend this to first and MANY people popped into my mind。 So safe to say this is a definite must for those like me who need to see what they feel in the written word。 。。。more

Thank you NetGalley and Central Avenue Publishing for the chance to read and review this book。I was pretty excited when I saw girl made of glass on netaglley! I love central avenue and so many of the books they publish, and the cover and title on this one are super cute。 However, the book just wasn't it for me。 After the first poem things just went down and I couldn't get into it。 It feels like so many people are writing like this and nothing really stood out。 Thank you NetGalley and Central Avenue Publishing for the chance to read and review this book。I was pretty excited when I saw girl made of glass on netaglley! I read this because of the gorgeous cover and ended up connecting with it on such an intimate level。 In this beautiful collection of poetry, Shelby Leigh lays bare themes such as heartbreak, trauma, self-doubt, self-love, healing and being human。As a 'giver' myself just like the author, I resonated with this book deeply。 Having had my fair share of past hurts, regrets and toxic relationships, the experiences and imagery described here are all too familiar and relatable。 I also appreciate the sel I read this because of the gorgeous cover and ended up connecting with it on such an intimate level。 In this beautiful collection of poetry, Shelby Leigh lays bare themes such as heartbreak, trauma, self-doubt, self-love, healing and being human。As a 'giver' myself just like the author, I resonated with this book deeply。 Having had my fair share of past hurts, regrets and toxic relationships, the experiences and imagery described here are all too familiar and relatable。 I also appreciate the self-love exercises that the author has included, which I feel will come in handy。While unapologetically raw, Girl Made Of Glass also feels remarkably uplifting and very freeing。 This is my first foray in Shelby Leigh's work and I can't wait to read both her past and future books!Thank you to Central Avenue Publishing and Netgalley for an ARC of this book。 。。。more

This poetry book covers topics of mental health and self care。 As someone who struggles with their own mental health, the words really hit me hard。 It's quite an emotional book and it may not be for everyone but for me I could feel the authors emotions in the words and so many of the passages resonated deeply with me。It's a powerful read for the right reader。 This poetry book covers topics of mental health and self care。 As someone who struggles with their own mental health, the words really hit me hard。 It's quite an emotional book and it may not be for everyone but for me I could feel the authors emotions in the words and so many of the passages resonated deeply with me。It's a powerful read for the right reader。 。。。more
